An executive of a Spanish pharmaceutical company was charged by the country’s law enforcement for faking his Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination status.
El Periodico de España reported that Jose Maria Fernandez Sousa-Faro, the founder and president of Spanish drug firm PharmaMar, was among more than 2,000 people who paid substantial amounts of money to fake their COVID-19 vaccination status.
According to the National Police Corps (CNP), the Big Pharma executive shelled out between €1,000 ($1,062) and €2,000 ($2,125) to ensure his name appears in the Spanish National Immunization Registry as triple-vaccinated. The law enforcement agency added that Sousa-Faro, 76, had also arranged to receive saline injections.
The revelation followed a CNP investigation – dubbed as “Operation Jenner” – that uncovered several names on the registry who paid to be listed without getting injected. Celebrities and European elites were among the more than 2,200 people implicated in the scheme. Aside from Sousa-Faro, other names fraudulently added to the list included tennis player Alex de Minaur and musician Omar Montes. Operation Jenner found that the head of the Madrid-based PharmaMar enlisted the help of a criminal network that specialized in fake COVID-19 vaccine passports. The syndicate charged higher prices to individuals who wanted to be listed in the registry as having been injected with more than two COVID-19 vaccine doses. It had been operating from around September 2021 until January 2022.
The criminal syndicate responsible for faking proof of COVID-19 vaccination was a nursing assistant working at Madrid’s La Paz University Hospital. He was arrested in April 2022 and accused of charging more than €200,000 ($212,520) for fraudulently adding the names of unvaccinated people in the national COVID-19 vaccine registry.
Aside from this, Operation Jenner was also responsible for uncovering a similar, larger network that operated in the European Union. Fifteen people were arrested in connection with the scheme.
Sousa-Faro’s fraudulent COVID-19 vaccination status allowed him several “freedoms,” including that of travel. He has yet to receive any summons to appear before a court in relation to the charges against him.
But upon further scrutiny, other familiar names paid huge amounts to list themselves as vaccinated against COVID-19 despite not being injected.
Operation Jenner found several other individuals involved in the scheme – including soccer player Bruno Gonzalez Cabrera, mixed martial arts fighter Jose Luis “Titin” Zapater, businessman Trinitario Casanova, actress Veronica Echegui and aesthetic physician Dr. Camilo Esquivel. “The fee was dependent on your social standing. The more important you were, the higher the price,” said the CNP.
Entrepreneur Steve Kirsch wrote about Sousa-Faro’s involvement in the fraudulent COVID-19 vaccine passport scheme. He pointed out in a Substack post that the Spanish drug executive story was all over the news in Europe, but was barely a blip in the radar in the United States.
Kirsch then challenged his readers and their “blue-pilled friends” to answer this question: “Why would the chief executive of a very large pharma company in Spain pay a huge fee – it was set based on ability to pay – and risk a long prison sentence to avoid taking a ‘perfectly safe’ vaccine that will keep him from dying from COVID-19?”
“Let us all know how your blue-pilled friends answer this question; maybe we got it wrong. [But] all my readers know the answer: Because he didn’t want to die [from the vaccine].”
